What a week of blessings!

1. Sunday evening after sending my update I received an email from a woman in a village about 50 kilometers from here. We distributed booklets there in the fall. She wants to meet to discuss the Scriptures. She says there is no Baptist church in her village of about 50,000 people. I offered to come and teach a Bible study. We are supposed to meet this week or next to discuss the possibilities. I am waiting for another response from her.

2. Debra and I met with Misa on Friday. She is under conviction and says she wants very badly to have a right relationship with the Lord. We will be meeting with her again this week. Pray for the Lord to give her understanding and me clarity of speech to explain repentance and faith.

3. Our friend Jana from Prague brought four friends for a visit this afternoon. They had many questions about spiritual things and in the end asked to begin meeting for Bible studies. We will begin meeting with the first two this week. They are sisters named Milarda and Alena. They are both seeking the Lord and want to know how to get right with Him. We are scheduled to meet Wednesday afternoon at 6:00 Pm our time. Won't you pray for them during your lunch hour on Wednesday?

4. The other couple are married. John and his wife Anna could not meet this week so we are scheduled to meet next week on Thursday. John was raised Catholic and Anna in a non-religious home. All four of these people seem genuinely interested and sincerely seeking.

5. We are still working on our Spring literature push. We distributed almost another 1000 booklets this past week. If we keep this up we will soon run out of material :-)

God is blessing. Keep praying!
Jeff

We have had a great week here. We distributed another 1200 booklets. I received one very unkind response in the mail. The person returned the booklet, (at their own expense) with a note saying, "what is wrong with you people? Why are you putting this kind of thing in our mailboxes. Don't you realize this is the 21st century and not the middle ages? Well, we went back this week to the same area with the second booklet in the series entitled "Answers for Skeptics". So far I haven't heard from this person again.

Debra and I met with Misha for a second Bible study. I don't remember if I told you that she was one that responded to a booklet we gave her on the street. She listens intently during our study and asks a few questions afterward. Pray for her. She is supposed to contact me again this week to get together for another lesson.

I also met with Vashek and Luke on Tuesday, Alex on Wednesday, Robert on Thursday, Jaromir yesterday, and had a chance to speak to Vit today after our services at home. Pray for these men. The Lord is working on several hearts. We desire to see them come to Christ.

Thanks for praying. We hope you have a great day in the Lord's house, Jeff

Dear prayer partners,

Spring literature campaign:

The family and I were able to distribute 3500 more booklets this week. In one area of approximately 2000 homes we placed the "Is Jesus a Fraud" booklet one week, then a week later we placed the "Why is there suffering and Death" tract. We plan to finish up in the month of April and hope to distribute a total of 20,000 pieces by the end of the month.

I forgot to tell you last week. Praise the Lord we received our permanent Visa's the week before last. This gives us the ability to stay indefinitely in the country. It also allows us to live or minister in any of the "Shengen" countries of the EU. It could open other doors to reach into un-reached areas of Europe. Pray about this.

I had good meetings this week with Alex, and Vashek. I was able to preach to Vashek for nearly 30 minutes. He listened intently but clung to his own beliefs about God. He still thinks he can be good enough to be accepted into Heaven. Pray for further opportunities to witness to him.

Today after church we took the boys to the park to ride their bikes. We just "happened" to run into Alex and his wife and son. This park is 10 miles from us in the center of Brno. This is also the first time we have been there this year. Surprise! Praise the Lord they accepted an invitation to visit us here at home and talk. Pray for Alex and Natasha. They are originally from Russia but now work here in Brno.

We also have a meeting in half an hour with Michaela. She is a Slovak lady that emailed me as a result of receiving on of the "answers to Skeptics" booklets from us this month. We have emailed back and forth several times and today we are going to meet in a coffee shop to talk some more. We shared our testimony tracts with her and she said she would like to learn more. Pray as Debra and I meet with her shortly. I will update you next week about how it went.

We are praying for you and know you are doing the same. May the Lord bless you today,

Jeff

Praying you all have a glorious Resurrection day.

Had a good week here. I was able to meet with Alex this week and share some truths relating to the resurrection. He is one who is Russian Orthodox but not practicing. I have been unable to get back with Martin. His new job has kept him busy traveling and we have been unable to get together. Pray that he will see his need to complete our Bible study. Pray for conviction of sin in his life.

I received an email from a Slovak woman as a result of our handing out literature this week. She was challenged by the booklet "Answers to Skeptics" and asked for more information about our work here and about Baptists. Pray as I respond to this request.

David has been quite ill this week which has kept things interesting at home. he still has a bad cough and was up many times last night. Both boys and I were sick two weeks ago. David seems to have caught something else while his system was week. Pray for health for the family.

We are praying for the missions conference at our home church this coming week. May we all do more for the cause of Christ today than we did yesterday!

May God bless you all as you serve Him,
Jeff

Spring literature Campaign:

Praise the Lord we were able to distribute another 2500 booklets this week. Brother Reaves was here on Wednesday with his brother in law Steve. We worked for a couple of hours in the streets, then the family and I placed another 1500 in mailboxes on Saturday. Can you believe it, I made my wife work on her birthday? We received one response for further information out of the 5000 or so we have distributed this month. Pray for these souls

Deb had a birthday Saturday and we want to thank all who called to wish her a great day! The phone rang off the hook and there were many voice messages left. It meant a lot to her and to me to know how much you care. First we prepared breakfast for her with pancakes and homemade sausage. Then the boys and I took her to choose a new outfit and then to lunch for Chinese food. It was a nice day and we tried to show how grateful we are to the Lord for her.

Tuesday evening we met with a woman named Milarda. She is friends with a woman we used to work with in Prague. Milarda is searching but is completely ignorant to spiritual things. We met for a couple of hours and left her with some material. She said she would contact me in a couple of weeks to discuss the possibility of doing a Bible study together.

There are some other things brewing but I will wait to share about them when I have more information. Thanks for praying. The Lord is at work in hearts.

For Czech souls,
Jeff
