Our Pastor
 Louis Purks was born on July 29th 1951. He
grew up in southern California and was saved at the age of 17 on April
20th, 1969. He had been witnessed to by several friends and came under
great conviction at the Sunday night service and trusted the Lord as His
personal Savior. It was not long after that the Lord called him to be a
preacher of the gospel. He did summer mission work in Hawaii, where he
met his wife Gayle. Later he went to Bible college in Texas, where he
received his bachelor's degree in English Bible. God moved he and his
wife east where he has been ministering since 1979. He has been
pastoring at Victory Baptist Church in Frederick, MD. for over 18 years.
His desire is to fulfill the great commission, reaching Frederick with
the gospel, sending missionaries to plant other local New Testament
Baptist churches, and training men to rise to the challenge of being
servant leaders in the home.

Our Beliefs
- We believe in the infallible verbal inspiration of the whole Bible: II Timothy 3:16,17.
- The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ: Matthew 1:20
- The Triune God: Matthew 28:19.
- The Genesis account of Creation.
- The Deity of Jesus Christ: John 10:30.
- The vicarious sacrifice of Jesus Christ: Hebrews 2:9
- That Salvation is wholly by grace through faith in Christ: Ephesians 2:8, and that all believers are preserved eternally: I Peter 1:5; John 10:27-30.
- The bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus, and the bodily resurrection of His saints. I Corinthians 15; the second coming of Jesus Christ personal and bodily, as the crowning event of this Gentile age, Acts 1:11, to set up his kingdom on earth and to rule upon the earth one thousand years: Revelation 20:6.
- The Bible doctrine of eternal punishment of the finally impenitent: Matthew 25:46.
- A scriptural church is a visible assembly of baptized believers, covenanted together under New Testament law for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission, with an unbroken history from the personal ministry of Jesus on earth to this present day.
- We hold what true Baptists have ever held: That the Great Commission was given to the churches only.
- Scriptural Baptism is immersion of believers, administered by a New Testament church; the Lord's Supper is a memorial ordinance, restricted to faithful church members.
